QMx is currently seeking a Concept Artist/Character Designer to join our Los Angeles-area creative team. The ideal candidate will be able to create original character designs following a number of comic styles, including manga, anime, chibi and traditional, as well as more realistic life study/figural art.

Requirements

• Strong art portfolio exhibiting exceptional skills in a variety of animation and realistic art styles, as well as a demonstrated understanding of human and animal anatomy.
• Expertise in the use of software tools used such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in the creation of character art.
• Understanding of 3-D computer graphics (modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering).
• Highly motivated and eager to take on challenges.
• Ability to take direction well.
• Responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with a creative team.

You should be a chameleon – able to work in a variety of styles with equal aptitude, while imparting your own individual style. Experience with digital 3-D character modeling and texturing skills is a must. Experience with animation is not required, but would be a plus.

QMx Artisan – Hand-built models of props and vehicles. These items are produced by professional Hollywood prop-makers. Edition sizes are generally very limited.
