QMx Displays New Slate at Comic-Con
LOS ANGELES — August 4, 2016 — Quantum Mechanix showed an array of new product lines at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2016 that had the fan press buzzing with excitement. Here’s a sampling of the coverage:

Ship Replicas
Among the highlights of the show were the new ship replica prototypes:
- the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars.
- the Franklin from Star Trek Beyond.
- the Milano, Star-Lord’s ship from Guardians of the Galaxy
John Eblan, head of the QMx model shop, was on hand to talk about the creation of these mini-masterpieces.
1:6 Scale Articulated Figures
QMx also unveiled an extensive line of 1:6-scale action figure prototypes.
- Debuting from Star Trek: The Original Series were previously unseen prototypes of Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Chief Engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott and Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu.
- Making their first public appearance at the convention in celebration of the Star Trek 50th Anniversary were 1:6-Scale Star Trek: TOS Master Series Kirk and Spock. Fans were able to buy these two figures at the convention, and they were a huge hit with everyone, including some familiar faces.
- Also on display were 1:6-scale prototypes of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Data and Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Admiral Kirk and Captain Spock from Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
- Other 1:6 lines announced were The Princess Bride and Justified. The “Hero of Canton” Jayne Cobb was on hand representing Firefly.
- Dean and Sam Winchester from Supernatural were both a big hit as 1:6 action figures.
Plush
- The trinity from Supernatural — Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester and the angel Castiel — were revealed as Q-Pals, the new QMx plush figure line. QMx promises more fun plush figures to come.
- Also on the plush front, Jayne Bear from Firefly was on display, complete with Troublemaker shirt and knitted hat.
Exclusives
The first Q-Fig Max Figure, Aquaman & Cthulhu, made a big splash, with the King of the Seven Seas standing atop the perturbed octopus-human-dragon hybrid.
